Science, Technology and Digital Competency
The Science and Technology Area of Learning draws on the disciplines of biology, chemistry, computer science, design and technology, and physics to enhance learners’ knowledge and understanding of the world. Learners are encouraged and given opportunities to apply their digital skills to other areas of learning through the delivery of the Digital Competency Framework.

Safe, Smart, Secure
A huge part of this Area of Learning is helping learners to be safe- whether this is being safe using tools in design, experimenting in science or being safe online.
At CRC we use guidance from many different platforms such as HWB and the Digital Learning Den to teach, encourage and reinforce being safe, smart and secure online. Every year we celebrate and take part in Safer Internet Week during the spring term. This year, Safer Internet week is focusing on the ‘Safe and Responsible Use of AI.’ Our Digital Whizz Kids have prepared a short play which shows the benefits and considerations for the use of AI for young children. They are very excited to showcase this during our Safer Internet assembly.
